17/10/2025
The Hull and East Yorkshire Local Skills Improvement Plan (HEY LSIP) team are delighted to announce that their next Forum will take place on Monday 17th November 2025.
Timings are from 9.30am for a 10.00am start at Byron Room, Canham Turner Building, University of Hull, Cottingham Road, Hull HU6 7RX. The Forum is due to conclude at 1.30pm.
This Forum will focus on gaining your views for
LSIP 2.0, as well as a sector focus on Health & Social Care.
Once again
we are delighted to say there will be a showcase for you, this time provided by
the University of Hull, taking a look at their Allam Medical Building -
a ‘health hub’ housing the Hull York Medical School, Faculty of Health and
Social Care and the Applied Health Research Institute, and provides a much
needed social heart to establish and grow research in applied health within a
state of the art clinical skills facility.
We will
also hear from the University of Hull regarding: future developments in
provision; skills bootcamps; and gaining employer input as they scope their
future apprenticeship offer.
In
addition, we are pleased to announce that we will be joined by Skills For
Care, who will: provide an update on the state of the adult social care
sector and workforce; predictions in terms of growth within the sector for our
local area; priorities for the sector; and implications on other sectors if
Health & Social Care is not operating at capacity.
There will
also be an update from the HEY LSIP team, on our LSIP progress across
our five key themes (Technical Skills, Educational Teaching Professionals, Employability
Skills & Behaviours, Careers Guidance and Accessibility), along with our
activities in developing LSIP 2.0. This Forum will see the start of our
engagement to support the development of LSIP 2.0, which is due to be submitted
to Skills England by 31st March 2026. Don’t miss out as
this will be your time to influence the direction we take in terms
of priorities for our local area.
A free
buffet lunch will be provided, along with refreshments, during the
event. And there will be time to network and make new contacts across the
skills landscape in Hull, East Yorkshire and the Humber.
We hope to
see you there!
