Location: Malton and across North Yorkshire Contract: Permanent
Hours: Full Time
Salary: NYFRS Grade 7, £31,537 - £33,699 Closing Date: Monday 20th October at 9.00am
The Opportunity
We’re looking for a dedicated Community Safety Officer to deliver targeted interventions that reduce the risk of harm from fire, water, road incidents, arson, and environmental events. You’ll work directly with vulnerable individuals, families, and communities, supporting our Prevention, Early Intervention and Safeguarding Strategy.
Key Responsibilities

Deliver safety advice and interventions to those most at risk.


Work with firefighters and partners to coordinate prevention activities.


Build strong relationships with colleagues and external agencies.


Design and deliver training and prevention packages.


Identify and refer safeguarding concerns.


Share learning and contribute to team decisions.


Promote safety, wellbeing, and ethical standards across the service.


What We’re Looking For
Qualifications:

Level 1 & 2 Safeguarding (or willingness to complete).

Experience:

Community engagement and partnership working.


Delivering presentations and training.


Supporting vulnerable individuals and families.

Skills:

Strong communication and teamwork.


Able to travel across the county.


Resilient, organised, and IT proficient.


Passionate about making a positive impact.
