Skills for Work: Shaping the Future of Occupational Standards.

Skills England's Skills for Work programme, led by their Board Chair Phil Smith, is considering how the standards and the products they underpin, are fit for the future, meet employer need, equip people for?good jobs and careers and support the devolution agenda. 

As part of this work, Skills England are asking for your views on how occupational standards and the products they underpin can better support learners, employers and local economies. You can contribute via the form here up until 23:59 on Friday 16th October.

We encourage you to provide your feedback and promote this within your networks. 

Focus of the work

This programme will consider:

• How to improve simplicity and flexibility for employers and places and make it easier to respond to emerging regional and national skills needs, such as AI;
• How participation by young people could be increased;
• Whether occupational standards are sufficiently aligned with growth priorities;
• Whether there are gaps in provision and how these should be addressed;
• Whether there are lessons we can learn from international comparisons to strengthen the system here.
