Employers across Hull and East Yorkshire are being encouraged to explore the Youth Jobs Grant.

This is a government initiative designed to help businesses
recruit young people while supporting more 18–24-year-olds into employment.
The Youth Jobs Grant provides businesses across Great
Britain with a £3,000 payment for each eligible young person hired. To qualify,
the young person must be aged 18–24 and have been unemployed and receiving
Universal Credit for at least six months.
What support is available?
As well as the £3,000 grant, participating employers can
access job-matching support from Jobcentre Plus and local recruitment
consultant teams, including opportunities to meet potential candidates before
making a recruitment decision. The scheme aims to help employers reach
motivated young people who might otherwise be overlooked, while providing
wraparound recruitment support.
The grant is available to employers of all sizes and across
all sectors. Payments are made in two stages: £1,800 after six weeks of
employment and £1,200 after 18 weeks.
Employers taking part must offer a genuine paid role of at
least 25 hours per week, which they would otherwise have recruited for, and
ensure that the role is safe, fair and of good quality.
For employers facing recruitment challenges or looking to
strengthen their future talent pipeline, the Youth Jobs Grant provides an
opportunity to bring new young talent into the workforce while receiving
financial and recruitment support.
